ABSTRACT

Bullying behaviour can be verbal, physical or psychological – it can happen directly or indirectly on social media. This behaviour is defined as a deliberate and on-going attempt to undermine someone’s positive sense of self and is often marked by a power imbalance. It can be perpetrated by individuals and also by a group. Others may collude by silence and inaction. Being bullied can have a long-term negative impact on wellbeing so this needs to be addressed at a whole school or whole class level beyond the brief suggestions made here.
