ABSTRACT
All the ironwork from The Hirsel was X-rayed. The quantity of ironwork prohibited the treatment of each item individually, but a selection of artefacts was cleaned and conserved. The assemblage was examined by Philip Clogg, and some of the notes from his record cards, particularly observations on tinning and brazing, have been incorporated into the catalogue.
