ABSTRACT

A deliberately conservative approach has been adopted in the treatment of the base manuscripts, particularly in respect of non-observance of declension. The few instances where correction has appeared necessary are indicated at the conclusion of the comparison of the manuscripts. Throughout, i/j and u/v have been standardized, capital letters supplied, and abbreviations expanded following normal conventions; Roman numerals and the graphy x have been retained. Use of diacritics is in accordance with the guidelines suggested by Foulet and Speer. 1 Characters added to the manuscript reading are surrounded by square brackets [ ], and characters suppressed by parentheses ().
