ABSTRACT
Criterion validity lends itself to statistical analyses. If a new measurement method is developed, and there exists a criterion measure, the two measurements can be compared by computing a paired t-test of means, and also examining the correlation between the scores. Both statistics are needed to evaluate the validity, and a large p and r are seen in strong validity.
