ABSTRACT

The outright disparagement of women becomes the rallying cry for the vilification and effeminization of the enemy. The challenge is not only with hatred of the enemy but the effeminization of the enemy in the process, though the deprecation used during times of war, should the victor prevail, continues even during peacetime. Hunter's allegations are even more apt in that there are three things that most terrify men in the United States military: capable women, homosexual women and homosexual men. The one prevailing theme that is common in these three variables is femininity, or at least those perceived as having effeminate traits. What is suspected to be the most effective tools in keeping a fighting force at its peak readiness is to demonize the enemy by hurling slanderous and effeminate vernacular at him all for the glorification of self as superior.
