ABSTRACT
The proposed model InfElecPhy GPS Unit (IEP-GPS) tracking system described in this chapter is based on the dedicated 3G/GPRS module for fleet management. This model is founded on two architectures: the use of microcontroller and not using the microcontroller to do the tracking for users. The justification for the choice of this model is based on several personal researches and tests. The description of the electronic equipment for a GPS system was presented in Chapter 2, as well as the communication modules and protocols detailed in Chapter 3. In this model, the tracking process allows one to obtain tracking of the users on various types of maps and for editing various reports by using the open source application, OpenGTS. In addition, when disconnection occurs from the network, a detailed method of storage on a SD card of the necessary tracking information is done in order to provide greater accuracy in the tracking process.
