ABSTRACT
My experiences leading up to entering my doctoral program were filled with excitement and energy. The excitement came from knowing that becoming a counselor educator was the next step I wanted to take on my professional journey and that this degree was what I needed to be able to take that step. I was energized when visualizing the intellectual environment into which I intended to fully immerse myself, the smart and thoughtful colleagues I imagined I would encounter, and the new learning adventures and opportunities I vowed I would take full advantage of. I am grateful to be able to say that all of that came to fruition during my program at Syracuse University (SU), though not without some bumps and bruises along the way.
