ABSTRACT
This concluding chapter explains why despite apocalyptic predictions and the populist turn in American politics the promotion of democracy and the protection of human rights have remained core objectives of U.S. foreign aid strategy to this day. Thus, foreign aid will always continue to be an important tool of U.S. foreign policy and will likely continue to shape U.S. human rights policy.
