ABSTRACT
Many outstanding VFX artists involved with some of the great blockbusters of our days confirm the influence of stop-motion animator Ray Harryhausen (1920–2013), not because he was working in animation but because of his special technique of compositing and having model animation interact with live-action photography, like his mentor, Willis O'Brien, did in the silent Lost World (1925) and the original King Kong (1933).
