ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a profile of Dr. Rassel Kasim, a quality expert based in the United Arab Emirates. It focuses on providing impetus for implementing quality in organizations as well as discussing the useful tools that can be deployed in the implementation of quality. A study based on a global survey in which fifty executives and quality experts were questioned revealed that 42 percent of respondents thought the effectiveness of the quality methods was decreasing, and 50 percent thought quality issues related to customers would increase. Quality experts should acquire the basic skills to understand and analyze big data, both structured and unstructured, and to do their best to move from the hindsight stage to the foresight stage of data analysis, where value and efficiency is increased. In addition to some basic tools, numerous other quality tools focus more on the decision-making process. These new management tools were developed by the Japanese Society for Quality Control Technique Development.
