ABSTRACT

This chapter presents a profile of Mr. Krishna Kumar, general manager of quality and business excellence for the Oasis Investment Company LLC/Al Shirawi Group. Mr. Kumar is a passionate quality leader who is ambitious about driving his organization toward excellence. He discusses his experiences with driving quality in his organization and shares valuable knowledge about using quality standards to achieve operational excellence. Leadership plays a vital role in engaging all the stakeholders, since the leaders are the driving force of any such initiatives. They need to ensure the availability of required resources, and they also have to be accountable for guaranteeing the effectiveness of the implementation of business best practices to meet the necessary criteria and to qualify for and win the National Quality Award. Middle management should act when top management shows its positive intent to deploy the quality criteria set for the award program.
