ABSTRACT
This chapter develops the nature of hierarchical regional orders, focusing on the Western Hemisphere. It is divided into four sections: the first one elaborates on the significance of regional orders for world politics; the second and third focus on the workings of hierarchical relations in the Western Hemisphere, considering the cases of Latin America and Canada, respectively. The fourth and final section succinctly recaps the discussion.
