ABSTRACT
After receiving tenure, newly minted associate professors should celebrate and think about the next stage of their academic careers. The concluding chapter encourages tenured faculty to think about new research projects and taking chances in their careers. The chapter begins with advice for pre-tenure faculty that face a negative decision regarding their tenure. Next, the chapter encourages tenured faculty to think outside the box and pay their success forward by supporting pre-tenure faculty as a way to acknowledge the support they received along the path to tenure. By describing life after tenure, the chapter gives pre-tenure faculty a goal to strive toward and challenges tenured faculty to leverage their success to serve others.
