ABSTRACT

As a core definition of quality is ‘conformance to requirements’, effective requirements management is pivotal to project success, so this is explored and discussed in detail. Other standard project management disciplines are also vital to delivering quality, and are discussed: change management and configuration control, and risk management. The measurement of the project’s performance needs to cover quality, and this is discussed too, with particular focus on ‘effectiveness’ over ‘efficiency’. Finally, the importance of knowledge capture, sharing and management is discussed and some solutions compared.
