ABSTRACT

Empowerment seems to be a weak variable in the current depiction of agility. It is overused and under-defined, stated in every description of what the corporate future will look like in the Agile world. In order to revise the model on agility and see where it can be applied more effectively, a review of the case material is presented in the context of the proposed antecedent model. The importance of trust in an agile environment cannot be overestimated. In every case and supplemental case investigated this factor would seem to be the make or break aspect of the team or project. The existing models described the attributes of agility and do not necessarily provide factors that may be manipulated to increase the level of agility. Finally, there were many observations during the research that agility might have a different framework or different drivers when viewed from lessor developed nations.
