The Brothers John and William Wilkinson and their relations with French Metallurgy, 1775–1786

The activities of the Wilkinson brothers in France between 1775 and 1786 form an important chapter in the history of the development of the French iron industry and in the history of Franco-British relations towards the close of the eighteenth century as well as an example of the progress of the coke smelting of iron in two neighbouring countries.
