ABSTRACT

Gurgaon, the millennium city of India, is a hub for Fortune 500 companies. The city has experienced unprecedented growth in recent decades and generated numerous dichotomies. In this research the city is understood through its historical and master-plan-led development. The fast-paced development has led to numerous problems. The problems addressed in this chapter pertain to its transport systems and mobility. The answers to these may lie in some very basic approaches to planning that have been neglected due to an overriding emphasis on real-estate-led development. These approaches, along with some new age innovations, are explored in the chapter.
