ABSTRACT

By law, in the UK all schools must have an anti-bullying policy. It is good working practice that this policy forms part of a 'whole school approach', and that the students have an input into forming and updating the policy. Good anti-bullying practice does not stop once a policy is in place; in fact it has just started. Staff members and students will be trained in a variety of anti-bullying strategies, and a variety of strategies will be available for students to use to help deal with bullying. Children may demonstrate certain signs or behaviours which indicate that they are being bullied. The school's anti-bullying policy will be updated annually. The school will employ a variety of strategies which may be accessed through the school's anti-bullying office or the peer mentors. Strategies will also be promoted in the school magazine and on a variety of posters displayed around the school.
