ABSTRACT

The learning disabilities (LD) is often used to describe individuals with learning difficulties stemming from neurological dysfunctions within the central nervous system involved in understanding or in using language. This chapter presents students with LD commonly exhibit many of the developmental variables and the behavioral tendencies associated with learning and movement. It shows "Strategies for Teaching Students with LD". Knowing about a student's culture means knowing about his or her home environment and community life, family and peers' interaction style(s), common language and dialogue used in the home and the community, and customs and traditions. Numerous adapted physical educators have articulated best practice strategies and presented specific modification considerations for teaching students with LD and other disabilities. According to the Disease Control and Prevention, individuals with disabilities are less likely than people without disabilities to participate in regular moderate to vigorous physical activity.
