ABSTRACT

Introductory. Having been selected by the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies1 as Commissioner to inquire into and report on the a airs of the Freetown City Council, I2 le England for Sierra Leone on the 19th May, 1926. I was accompanied by Mr. A.J. Dawe of the Colonial O ce, who had been selected to act as Secretary to the Commission. I arrived at Freetown on Saturday the 29th May. Having completed my Inquiry, I le on the 7th July and reached Plymouth on the 17th July. I was thus absent from England in connection with the Inquiry for two calendar months, less two days. Of this period, ve weeks and four days were spent in Sierra Leone.
