ABSTRACT

Statement of Objects and Reasons. e Bill provides for the establishment and regulation of private townships on land owned by Mining Corporations, which has been developed or is in course of development, by such Corporations, for the bene t of its employees. It is felt that under these circumstances and where the Mining Corporation provides all the essential services for its own employees at its own cost it might be secured against the possibility of interference under the Municipal or other Township Laws. Although such a Township may be adjacent to a public Township, it is not intended that there should be competition between such Townships and no trading, in the usual sense, will be permitted in a Mine Township.
