THE most important event in the domestic history of the Colonial O ce in recent years has been the separation of business connected with the self-governing Dominions from the organization for the control and supervision of the a airs of the non-self-governing Colonies, Protectorates, and Mandated Territories. In July, 1925, a new Secretaryship of State for Dominion A airs was created, and as a result, the Dominions O ce was set up to take over from the Colonial O ce, business connected with the self-governing Dominions, the self-governing Colony of Southern Rhodesia, and the South African High Commission Territories (Basutoland, Bechuanaland Protectorate, and Swaziland); including also business relating to the Imperial Conference.
