He had gone on for some time representing me as insane, and suggesting that the wisest plan would be, to leave me, as such, under his control. He now saw that a different line of conduct was required of him. To make the most of the great advantage he enjoyed in the possession of my person, it was necessary that he should vest me in a certain degree in the robes of authority, and engage me to represent a part in the drama before him. /
