ABSTRACT
The Peter McKellar letters begin in this volume with two letters from Peter’s brother, Duncan, who was serving in the military in Corfu, to Peter before his emigration, which occurred probably in 1838. Peter was at this time living in Partick, now part of the city of Glasgow. They continue in the next volume with letters from various family members in Scotland and America, and go on into Volume 4 (see the headnotes in Volumes 3 and 4).
