ABSTRACT

Le Noir now began to be weary of his pedestrian mode of travelling. He found the common people in the country by no means sufficiently enlightened to receive his instructions, and being fatigued with walking so / far he determined to take the first opportunity of pursuing his journey in a more easy, as well as more creditable manner, and to waste no more of his eloquence on provincial sans culottes, but to mix again with the higher order of citizens, till he should have an opportunity of opening his mission to the more enlightened populace of the metropolis.
