ABSTRACT
The Asia-Pacific region possesses the highest concentration of arms-producing nations outside North America and Europe. While the value of military manufacturing in the region is still quite small, perhaps accounting for 10% of total global armaments production, the region has seen considerable growth in arms manufacturing, in terms of value, types of systems, sophistication and, particularly, national ambitions for such manufacturing.
