ABSTRACT

There is a cultural revolution taking place linked to impact that cyberspace is having on many ways that conduct business. Hypertext – or, more correctly, hypermedia because the links can be graphical as well as textual – is an important new business research and marketing tool. Cyberspace entrepreneurs must have at least a basic understanding of its strengths and weaknesses, and preferably play an active role in creating publications for the Web, the world's largest hypertext system. There is much more freedom in cyberspace publishing because augmenting plain text with full colour illustrations incurs few cost penalties. Informed management control is required to monitor such considerations in a cyberspace project. In addition to converting texts into a form that is attractive and dynamic on the Web, HTML plays also some of the roles in cyberspace of desktop publishing, multimedia authoring and database programs.
