Terrestrial Ecosystems

This chapter is devoted to monitoring a variety of characteristics and processes in terrestrial ecosystems, focusing on those variables related to plant productivity together with water use, gas fluxes, and relationships to environmental factors. We cover soil moisture, plant productivity, and canopy characteristics. Although we present the material thinking of natural environments, the techniques contained here are applicable as well to greenhouses, nurseries, or plantations.
