ABSTRACT
It is all about the requirements! This chapter addresses what some consider as the most critical aspect of systems engineering (SE) and the heart of the systems development effortthe requirements. We present the preeminent role that requirements have throughout the systems development life cycle (viz., the conceptual design phase, preliminary design phase, detailed design and development phase, production/manufacturing/construction phase, operations and support phase, and system retirement and disposal phase).
