ABSTRACT

Setting up a bodyshop capable of carrying out repairs that will meet customers', insurance companies' and motor manufacturers' quality standards requires significant investment in time and money. There are a number of specialist consultants in the bodyshop field, they can offer a variety of advice and assistance packages or be just used for special parts of the project which you have limited experience or knowledge in. The layout and design of the bodyshop will depend upon the type of work to be undertaken: minor repair, major crash repair, complete refinishing, PDI paint rectification, special customizing, the repair of light commercial vehicles and any combination of these. Lighting in the bodyshop plays a critical role in the final finish of a vehicle body. There are several general types of lamp found in bodyshops: Tungsten bulbs, high-pressure sodium, mercury lamps metal halide, and fluorescent tubes.
