ABSTRACT

The seven Factor Process is one of the processes drawn from academic research on strategy execution. The 7 Factor Process identifies seven factors or activity areas that are essential to effective strategy execution. These activity areas are as follows: form the strategy, prepare, plan and pilot implementation activities, allocate financial, time and talent resources for strategy execution, formally and informally monitor and compare the efforts and results of the implementation with predetermined outcomes and learn from intended and unintended outcomes of the process. Each of the seven factors or activity groups is meant to be carried out continuously. Flinders Medical Centre is a large 593-bed public teaching hospital in Australia. It is part of a hospital and healthcare network which is funded by the state Department of Health. Hospital senior management decided to pursue the redesign and redevelopment strategic initiative in 2009 after receiving endorsement from the Department of Health.
