ABSTRACT

People with eating disorders are expert at finding any chinks in the armour of their care team, parents, GP, school, etc. (remember divide and rule). While everyone involved does not need to all be singing in the same voice type (e.g., descant, tenor etc.), they do need to be singing from the same song-sheet and in harmony. A useful metaphor is of the herd of elephants, linking trunks and tails to provide a safe, calm, consistent and compassionate environment for Edi whatever stage of the recovery journey they are at.
