ABSTRACT

Assessment in HighScope is twofold and includes both formative and summative child assessment and an assessment of curriculum practices. This chapter begins by describing how HighScope practitioners operate in teams so that they can work together most effectively. It then looks at how the team assesses its work by taking anecdotal observations as the starting-point for the daily planning process and child assessment. Finally, it describes how teams maintain and develop curriculum practices using HighScope’s curriculum assessment tools, the Programme Implementation Profile and Observation/Feedback.
