ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses what students need to review with the students before their get on the plane. It explains the pre-departure review that faculty should conduct in order to ensure that once on ground all goes smoothly. One aspect of traveling with students which often surprises people is how much of their time is spent dealing with financial issues. Like many other academic endeavors, preparation goes a long way in guaranteeing success of students' course-based study abroad experience. Students will soon be leading a group of students who are going to be very excited, anxious, and nervous about the trip will have to be organized, confident, and levelheaded while making all the decisions. Students should also be reminded that they should record the relevant information from their credit cards and passport so that if they were to lose the items, reporting it to the relevant parties would be as easy as possible.
