ABSTRACT

Configuration management (CM) is the process of managing and/or controlling changes made to hardware, software, firmware, and documentation of an information system, throughout the development and operational life of a system. In addition, source code management and version control are also part of CM. Since CM involves the entire realm of components and parts of any system, it is an integral part of the total system development life cycle for the system.
