the relation of cinema-going to reading habits is obscure. Many teachers feel that there is some relation. Others feel that the cinema is an art-form in its own right and one to which schools and teachers should give attention. In any event, cinema-going is a prevalent spare-time occupation, and has inevitably entered into the widespread discussions of education for leisure. ¹ Children certainly go to the cinema a great deal. Table G XXI shows how often these groups of girls went to the cinema.
