ABSTRACT

Cyberpornography is the publication or trading of sexually expressive materials in the digital environment. The original definition of cyberpornography is the “publication or trading of sexually expressive materials.” Sex trafficking refers to the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, obtaining, patronizing, or soliciting of a person for the purpose of a commercial sex act. Obscene pornography refers to sexually explicit material that is labeled as filthy within a given cultural context. Some scholars have argued that one impact of excessive pornography use is an increase in risky sexual behaviors. Sexting in the broadest sense is the sharing of sexually explicit material. The archetypal example of sexting is two people in a current or future sexual relationship sharing sexual images of each other via text messages on their mobile phone. Pornography is primarily consumed by men. For the vast majority of pornography, the express purpose is to show women as ready and willing to perform sexual activity.
