ABSTRACT
We consider the role of religion during the Civil Rights era and compare it to the current role of religion in the US, including the 2016 presidential primary. How is religion represented on social media? What is the role and influence of religion in the social, cultural, and historical fabric of the US? What is the role of non-Christian religions? How are different religions represented on social media? How has religion been used to influence legislation and public policy? How are other groups treated by the Christian/Evangelical Right?
