ABSTRACT

The early adopters of RFID technology such as Walmart and Tesco have realized the benefits of implementing the technology. Many global fashion brands are considering embracing this emerging technology with their upstream and downstream suppliers, logistics and retail operations. This chapter discusses the adoption of RFID technology by several global fashion brands. Cases of fashion brands applying the RFID technology (such as H&M, Zara, Adidas, Nike, Macy's, Myer, Costco, Lululemon and Burberry) and the benefits achieved by each brand are discussed in this chapter. The information provided in this chapter has been collected from various sources such as fashion brands' websites, standard databases, trade journals and fashion journals.
