ABSTRACT
The Shanghai conference was an opportunity for the 3D printing (3DP) Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) project team to be able to present and discuss their findings. There were in attendance one hundred members of 3DP companies, alongside project staff. The developing of 3DP is not very optimistic, in terms of the number of companies. In terms of the growth of 3DP, the revenue is 50 billion yuan. Through the development of the European market, 3DP now has 70—80 3D devices in the Chinese market, but less than 20 per cent have been used for application. Traditional 3DP technology now is like a device. For the sake of the development of the technology, we need to have platforms instead using different devices. 3DP standard has seen many developments. In 2012, in China, the automobile engineering association published two standards. One is for titanium alloy, and the other is for laser.
