ABSTRACT

This section discusses environmental organizations in the international system. The inclusion of these organizations – and the treaty regimes giving rise to them – in the last chapter should by no means be seen as indicating that they are in any way least. Indeed, issues of environment and regulation at the international organization levels are of ever-increasing import and presence in international and domestic dialogue. And, as set out in the Conclusion Chapter, such issues form the crux of many aspects of current and future issues in the international community and in international law per se. As such, it is essential to first set out the organizations essential to discussions and actions involving environmental law and policy.
