ABSTRACT
The structure of an international organization provides the framework through which the organization’s functions may be accomplished. Unlike functions, structures are often modeled on the UN Charter and other foundational texts in order to provide for a relatable system of governance that features an established history. At the same time, organizations can – and often do – incorporate specific elements of their functions and identities into their structures in order to make them meaningful and productive for their particular constituencies.
