ABSTRACT
Simulation has existed for millennia; it became numerical and started its escalation in the 1940s thanks to computers. Its history is tied in but not restricted to theirs, considering the many internal innovations that have occurred. Numerical simulation kept growing once it arose and went through a strong acceleration in the 1980s.
