ABSTRACT
Twenty-first century engineering graduates are expected to be skilled in a variety of competencies beyond the profession’s traditional technical skills. An engineering curriculum that fosters community engagement can help engineering students acquire many of these additional abilities, such as teamwork and cross-cultural communication, while at the same time helping the profession achieve its broad goals of improving the quality of life.
