ABSTRACT

Goal itch weakens the ability in the management team to see human beings and their activities that take them towards the goal. Bad goal itch causes a blurred sense of reality and cold behaviour toward subordinates. Chronic goal itch is always dangerous for collaboration and long term success. The launch pad of the management team is only missing the finish. When the management team has defined its mission and vision, as well as created strategic guidelines and adjusted the decision-making body, only the discussion related to success metrics is left. In many management teams measurement is connected to beliefs. Well-formed metrics are always connected to strategy. Secondary success indicators focus on accomplishments that the management team wants to achieve within a certain time frame. The aspects of Primary Goals may be related to mutual feedback practices, conscious utilization of diversity or to exercises on how to cope with conflict situations.
