ABSTRACT

Chapter 6 argues that the typical justification offered in support of abortion rights is insufficient to override the cost in being wrong; i.e., it should be subject to epistemic diffidence. To this end the chapter considers in detail the argument from bodily rights. Arguments based on personhood are addressed in Chapter 4. I argue that none of the arguments exceed a threshold of justification that would override the epistemic diffidence we should have towards killing human life.
