ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on how coaching supports those who lead change to define and develop their roles in delivering successful organization change. It explores the specific ways that individuals at all levels in the organization can lead and respond to change most effectively. The chapter examines the critical role of the change leader and present an approach to deliver successful change through key processes and goals. It outlines how the coach can most effectively work with the leader to deliver successful change and offers suggestions for coach development. The key role of the executive coach is to ensure that a client in any of the roles develops and effectively implements a strategy in three arenas of change competency: Success of the Change, Stakeholder Engagement, and Self- management. The coach focuses on supporting the executive’s awareness, action, and accountability in the three arenas of change competency, ensuring that the executive has a well-designed, personalized, and effective approach to address each.
