ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the definition of the derivative of a function f at a point p in its domain. There is a certain “structure” to the relationship between derivatives and algebra. The chapter discusses the main theorems, which are exactly the three big derivative theorems one sees in a calculus class: the Product Rule, Quotient Rule, and Chain Rule.
