ABSTRACT

Cheminformatics is the application of computer technology and methods for the chemical-related field in molecular modeling and computational chemistry. It helps in the drug-making activity and in the discovery of new drugs, also opens up new area for research development and education. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) play a major and crucial part in cheminformatics, especially to store the tremendous amount of data relating to chemical compounds and other chemical information. ICT also enable easy accessibility of these data because they can be easily obtained. Here, without ICT, chemists would not be able to create new drugs easily resulting in a huge setback in the drug discovery process. Before the development of cheminformatics storage for chemical compounds, traditional documentation system using books and documents were played. Getting all this information had always been a problem in chemistry. Chemists should be able to get access to accurate data to their desks whenever it is needed. Therefore, from the beginning, chemists 228have been developing documentation systems on chemical compounds. An effective data mining helps to create and study new chemical objects in which it allows authentication and checking of physical and chemical characteristics among a large collection of compounds.
