ABSTRACT

Ozone is a gas with a high oxidant power, which when present in high concentrations presents adverse effects on human health, vegetation, and materials. Ozone concentrates in two atmospheric strata: in the troposphere, it acts as a pollutant, while in the stratosphere, it is beneficial. In persons exposed to high ozone concentrations, it can produce damages mainly centered on the respiratory tract. Equipment that uses a normalized method are utilized to measure ozone environmental concentration, and allows performing continuous and automatic measurements of air ozone concentration. Ozone can reach high concentrations, mainly in rural sites located in the inland.
